The Welcome Home Basket Project has been a signature hands-on activity of the Rotary Club of Downtown San Diego for the last 5 years.  These baskets are filled with household items to help previously unhoused people get started in their new homes. Over a dozen Club members assembled 50 baskets at Father Joe's Villages warehouse with items purchased through a Community Service Committee grant.  As each basket was completed a handwritten note welcoming the recipient to their new home was added.  Once again, Rotarians demonstrate the importance of "Service Above Self".
