Great news!  Our own Lucy Killea has been selected from a list of countywide nominees as “Mrs. San Diego 2016,” an honor bestowed on a person who has made an outstanding contribution to our region over the years.  Lucy will be recognized, along with “Mr. San Diego 2016” Leon Williams, at a luncheon on Thursday, September 15 hosted by the Rotary Club of San Diego (Club 33).

Lucy served on the San Diego City Council, and also served eight years in the California Assembly and seven years in the state Senate. She has had a little-known but fascinating career in other government service, including U.S. military intelligence and the CIA, and she attended the first United Nations General Assembly in 1946 in London as part of the U.S. delegation led by Eleanor Roosevelt.  And, of course, she has been a fabulous member of our club for many years.

Let’s support and congratulate Lucy for this well-deserved honor by attending this event on September 15.
