MODEL UN CONFERENCE 2024
District 5340 held its 20th annual Model United Nations Conference March 23-24, 2024, at the Del Mar City Hall. Congratulations to all 81 Student Delegates, 11 student Secretaries-General, and all Advisors, teachers and Rotarians who participated in this year's conference. Once again, our outstanding high school students impressed us with their leadership and team-player abilities, their grace and strength under fire, their negotiations, conflict-resolution and coalition-building skills.
San Diego Downtown Breakfast Rotary had a very active role in this event. Pauline Lim-Endresen was the co-chair and Mary Engles was on the planning committee. Gary Smith, Dave Nokes, and Kim Stewart were on the Resolutions Committee. Barbara Bry and Gary Smith made presentations as VIP speakers. In addition, our club provided financial support for teams from Orange Glen High in Escondido and the International Team from Mexico with Fernanda Torres as their advisor. It was a truly great experience for everyone who attended. Thank you to all of you for making this such a success!
