Helping Our Unhoused Neighbors

Third Avenue Charitable Organization (TACO)
On Wednesday, September 20th, after our regular club meeting, 5 Rotarians went over to TACO to assist in their mission to help our unhoused neighbors. On Wednesdays TACO serves a morning snack and hands out clothing and hygiene items. We were tasked with organizing donated clothing and getting items for clients as they lined up for assistance. For 2.5 hours we teamed up with TACO's volunteer staff to get the job done. Thank you to all who gave up their morning to provide this service and thank you Mary Engles for making the connection and coordinating the event. It was a great experience for all of us and one I hope other members will take advantage of. There will certainly be more opportunities to volunteer at TACO in the future.
