San Diego Downtown Breakfast Rotary
Delivers Holiday Cheer to
Es Por Los Ninos in Tijuana
Bright and early this last Saturday morning, our Rotary Club Secret Santas Alex, Bob, Mary, Janet and Pauline rode their sleigh to the San Ysidro border and were scooped up by fellow Rotarian elf Fernanda Torres to be guided through Tijuana to the magical Es Por Los Ninos center's "Up House". They were there to celebrate the Holiday with Rosalva, Rafael, Interactors, Santa, other volunteers and the families and children they serve.
Thanks to our Rotary Club, we purchased Christmas gifts for 69 children. Our International Service Committee also donated an additional $1,000 to help the center purchase infant formula for babies to keep them safe from contracting HIV from their mother's breast milk.
Here are some photos from Saturday's lovely Secret Santa Fiesta. Es Por Los Ninos founder Rosalva is in the red turtleneck with Santa outside in the courtyard and Rotarian Fernanda is wearing the elf ears. A shout out also to staff member Rafael in the red shirt, whose impressive organizational skills ensured each family received the right gifts.  Thank you to all for making this such a successful event!
