On September 16, 2017, the Pathways to Peace Committee of Rotary District 5340 will host a Rotary District Peace Leadership Seminar for new and current District Peace Chairs and Committee members, Interact and Rotaract club members and anyone with an interest in Rotary’s peace initiatives.  This free event will be held at the Ronald McDonald House from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Peacebuilding efforts have been developing rapidly in Rotary, and District 5340 is very much engaged.  Practically every Rotary service project and program throughout the world brings increased prospects for non-violent resolution of conflict.  Pathways to Peace is focused on ways to advance this essential aspect of Rotary. The Peace Leadership Seminar will focus on how Rotary is working to become an ever-greater force for peace at home and throughout the world.

The program will include:
  •  Welcoming remarks from District Governor Scott Carr
  • Presentations by the Chairs of our flagship programs:  Model UN, Peace Forum with USD and World Understanding Month
  • Suggestions on how participants' involvement can advance Rotary peace objectives, including responsibilities for Peace Chairs, how clubs develop and connect to programs, and ways to involve club members
  • First-hand advice from a panel of experienced Peace Chairs, who will lead discussions among seminar participants
  • Small group discussions to share “Best Ideas” for activities to bring back to your clubs
  • How to get special Peacemaker speakers to present to your club
  • AND MORE!

The seminar is free, but registration (on the District website) is requested for planning and refreshment purposes.
