The Federal Response to Drug Smuggling and San Diego's Growing Addiction Crisis

Alana Robinson, Acting U.S. attorney for San Diego and Imperial counties, has served in numerous leadership positions during her 26 years at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, including as criminal chief overseeing all criminal prosecutions and appeals and as supervisor of drug trafficking organization investigations.

For four years, Robinson was lead attorney for the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces program, and prosecuted cases against Mexican drug cartels and outlaw motorcycle gangs.  She also served on the Department of Justice’s Electronic Surveillance Working Group due to her expertise in using wiretaps in prosecutions.  She has won national recognition for her work.
